Get Started

If you’re wondering how to become a porn star as an amateur male model with no experience and have general questions, please read this ENTIRE SECTION.

  1. How do I get started?

    • You should first be absolutely sure that you are ready to be an adult film model. If you have aspirations of becoming a politician or lawyer or doctor in the future, this may not be the career for you if you are unable to overcome the unfortunate stigma that the industry has. Do not waste a studio or recruiters time when you are not sure that you are ready for these awesome opportunities.

  2. Why work with 3Sixty? What’s the advantage?
    • Adult film studios literally receive THOUSANDS of model applications per month and if you apply directly to a studio, you’re likely at the bottom.

      1. When you choose to allow 3Sixty to serve you, you are ensuring that you shoot to the top of the list of applicants!
      2. Think about health… 3Sixty has already pre-screened the studios that we work for with your health and safety being our main priority. All of our studio partners are extremely careful about STD’s and they have your best interest in mind.
      3. Scene Rates. 3Sixty works with a select few studios that pay WAY above industry average. Most new models getting into the industry have no idea how much they should be getting paid, well lucky for you, we do!

  3. Do I need prior experience? Will I be coached or trained before filming?
    • Absolutely not and actually, we strongly prefer our models NOT have prior experience. 90% of our studio partners will not hire a model who has prior adult film experience. 3Sixty does not “pre-film” models or help to “train” them prior to filming. 100% of our models arrive on set having never been in front of a camera before, you’re either made for the work, or you’re not.

  4. Confidentiality: How exposed am I going to be and what about my personal information, i.e. real name, address, etc?
    • When entering this industry (especially if you are applying for gay4pay work) you should understand immediately that there are no guarantees that you “won’t be recognized.” If there is someone in your life who is gay or maybe even “in the closet” and they are avid gay pornography fans, there’s a high chance that they will see your scene work. Our studio partners are some of the biggest names in the industry and are therefore very well known. If you are looking for assurances that you’ll never be recognized, you should probably not apply for work. As far as your personal information goes, the only time your real name is used is for payment and tax purposes. All models are required to use stage names and your information is never broadcast by a studio.

  5. If I have a pleasurable experience, does 3Sixty accept referrals and will I be paid?
    • ABSOLUTELY! About 60% of our business is referral base so definitely refer any and all of your hot friends who might be interested in work to us. If we can successfully place him with a studio, you’ll be paid a commission that’s dependent on what your referral is willing to do and with which studio we are able to place him with.

  6. How physically fit should I be?
    • VERY! Our studio partners pay TOP $$$ for the freshest new talent and that means you should be worth every penny! A decent 6 pack will get you in the door but defined pecs, biceps, back and legs will get you a LONG way.

  7. Have access to a decent camera. Be able to produce decent photos that will show off that wonderful body that you have worked so hard for. Camera phone and webcam photos are under no circumstance accepted, your submission photos should be ready and taken with a digital camera.
  8. Do not contact a studio or recruiter if you cannot produce quality images within a reasonable amount of time (7days).

    • When you complete an application for modeling (especially ours) you should already have decent photos taken or be able to produce decent photos within 7days. This again is an indication about how serious you are about becoming a star. Those who are serious, have no problems producing required photos within 24hours, those who are not serious, will diddle daddle. Also, do not submit on your application photos older than 30days, no matter what you think, you definitely look a little more different than you did last year or 5 years ago.
  9. Why is there a photo of a guy on your website?

    • 3Sixty is a Male Model Scouting agency so it is only natural that we would like to show off our male talent. We are currently working with studios that film straight, gay or gay4pay scenes. These scenes include: Solo Masturbation scenes, Guy/Girl Penetration, Oral Reciprocation (receiving oral from a male model), Mutual Jerk Off Scenes, Top & Bottom scenes. There is a large percentage of male models in gay film work that are not gay, so don’t let the photo deter you from applying!
  10. Do I have to be gay?

    • Absolutely not! The fact of the matter is, about 80% of the models that we work with are heterosexual. The straight film market is often very grim and limited for male models just because of the nature of straight film; it’s geared towards straight men, so the model emphasis is more focused on females. We do work with studios that offer work for the heterosexual male who is not interested in “gay4pay“. “Gay4pay” is a phrase used to describe straight male models who enter into the gay film industry simply because there’s a lot of money to be made.
  11. Is there only gay work available?

    • NO. But due to the limited amount of acceptances and lower pay for straight film work, 3Sixty is encouraging all applicants looking for guy/girl work to also apply for solo masturbation scenes. Most models will also be encouraged to apply for “gay4pay” work which will be explained to you by a recruiter.
  12. What do I have to do to get started?

    • The simple truth is that we do most of the work in the beginning, the only thing that you are required to do is submit to us a specified amount of self photographs that show off your gorgeous face and sexy body and leave the rest to us!
  13. Where is 3Sixty located?

    • 3Sixty is based out of Baltimore, MD.
  14. Where are the studios located?

    • Most of our studio partners are located in California but we also have partners in Florida.
  15. Do I have to pay for travel

    • Absolutely not. All of our studio partners pay for your round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and meal reimbursement. You will never be asked to put out money for any travel or for any other reason.
  16. When filming, how often am I required to be on location for a shoot? Can I choose the days I film?
    • Most shoots take anywhere from 2 – 3 days to film (except solo only which usually is 1 day) but a model filming multiple scenes should expect to be away for a minimum of 3 days and sometimes as many as 7 days. Studios tend to have a set schedule as far as what days they film on BUT they will definitely make accommodations for the right model, so don’t be afraid to let us know when you can and can’t be away. Please bear in mind, that you must be somewhat flexible. If a studio needs you for 3 days, that means 3 consecutive days. They will not fly you down multiple times just to film one scene.

  17. Does 3Sixty charge agent fees?

    • Again, absolutely not. We feel that if a model is performing under the sometimes intense pressure of filming, they deserve 100% of the money they make for that hard work. 3Sixty will never request any percentage of a models pay. Also, it’s important to note that 3Sixty does not function as an agent and what that means for you is, we generally do not book models for continued work as we generally deal with models with NO film experience. Once you become a model, if you are good at what you are asked to do, you won’t have any problem finding repeat work, especially from the studio we booked you with. Therefore, 3Sixty will never have you sign any type of contract that bounds you to us, however it is important to note that most studios will have you sign some sort of temporary exclusivity agreement.
  18. How much can I expect to make?

    • Please visit our casting page for current scene rates.
  19. Do I have to pay taxes on money earned?
    • Absolutely. You are considered an independent contractor and will be sent a W-2 at the end of the year. You are responsible for paying taxes on money earned while filming. Studios do not deduct taxes from you pay.
  20. How often can I expect work from a studio? Am I paid royalties for each scene?

    • That depends on you. Continued work is never promised to a model it is based on how well a model performs. If you have no trouble performing while being filmed, you have a great personality and if you’ve left the studio with a great impression of you, you can probably expect to return on a regular basis. As far as royalties go, all models are paid on a per scene basis and payments are one time only. No model is paid “per download/view” or for any other prior scene work after their initial payment.
  21. If I’ve done adult film before, can I work with your studios?

    • This is handled on a case by case basis. We work with some studios that will not accept any models with previous adult film experience. If you’ve only done 1 film, talk to us and we will see what we can work out for you.
  22. Should I shave my pubic hair?

    • NO! Contrary to popular belief, the shaved look is not in. Our studio partners prefer their models to have a nice natural look, if there is anything they want changed, they will not hesitate to say so.
  23. I have tattoos/scars, is that a problem?

    • While our studio partners prefer models with no tattoos, 1 or 2 small strategically placed tattoos will not result in an automatic denial. If you have more than 3 big tattoos and/or “sleeves”, you can almost expect not to receive any work from our studio partners. As for scars, it all depends on how big and noticeable and also the location of the scar.
  24. Can I cover my face or have it blurred out?

    • Absolutely not. Our studio partners are some of the best paying studios in the online industry and they are paying for all of you, so having your face blurred or covered is not an option.
